General Questions
1. Do we treat children?
Yes! We recommend starting at age 3-4, depending on child maturity. If the parent has serious concerns, they may bring them in earlier than that. We strive to make the first visit a totally positive one, to set them in motion for a trouble-free dental future.
2. Do you take insurance directly as payment? Which ones do you participate with?
Yes we do, under the proper circumstances. The patient must sign that over to us. Some insurances, however, do not allow us to take assignment from the patient. We do participate with some insurance plans and we are on the participation lists that they list. We encourage all our patients to call with any and all questions. No question is too small or silly. We want you to understand the insurance you have and what they will or won’t pay in your treatment. If you are changing insurances, always call us. We can let you know immediately how that may change your treatment payment issues.
3. How do you minimze the radiation I get during the taking of x-rays?
This is always an important question. Over the last 10 years or so, a process called digital x-rays have become the state of the art, rather than x-rays. It has a number of advantages including:
1. Only about 10% of the radiation of x-rays
2. Only 2-3 seconds to develop instead of the usual 4-5 minutes of standard x-ray processors.
3. Retakes of those x-rays are easily done to gather more information to assist us in your treatment. A number of different methods can change the x-rays to further assist us with diagnosis with each of the x-rays.
4. The records are kept in the computer and can be brought up at any time or in sequence to discover any changes over time of an area of concern.
5. Quick, accurate printouts for specialist referral, if one is required.
6. Quick, accurate printouts for your insurance company to get the benefits from them that you are entitled to!
