A goal without a plan is just a wish

Generally, the first visit is started with a cleaning and x-rays, depending on how long ago these were done. This allows us to get the best clinical data we can for diagnosis. Then, a periodontal screening is done, determining an initial starting base for the gingival (gums). After this, Dr. Powers examines all patients who have a prophylaxis (cleaning) done. With a review of your health history, periodontal exam, clinical exam, radiography (digital x-ray) exam and a discussion of any problems you are having, an accurate, thorough treatment plan can be formulated. As we leave the treatment area, the front desk can handle any tasks such as insurance claims, estimates, referral to specialists, etc. We truly want to improve your health, self-esteem and life through improvements in your oral health.
